Could it be? Tea is healthier than water!

The other day I stumbled across an article on BBC that shows thatr tea is healthier than water. Apparently the rumors that tea is dehydrating aren’t true and the antioxidants in tea are what make it better for you. I have always loved drinking tea but worried about drinking too much because I had heard it was dehydrating. Now I am pleased that I can drink as much tea as I want and be healthier for it!

My favorite type of tea is Jasmine Tea, either cold or hot. I also have my favorite cup for tea. It’s vintage and I think it’s so cute!

Do you have your favorite cup to drink tea/coffee out of?

A Cool Breeze

This morning when I woke, I heard the tree limbs tapping at my window. I thought, maybe it’s raining, but as I got down stairs I saw that it was not. Then I opened the back patio door and to my surprise it was cool outside!
This is the first real cool front we’ve had down here in Texas and I am very happy to get a break from the 90 degree heat. The weather went perfectly well with what I had planned for lunch too – score! I made some onion & mushroom soup last night and have a lot leftover. The recipe only turned out so-so so I won’t post it, hopefully I can perfect my own soon. Anyways, I needed some bread to eat with my soup, so I walked to my local grocery store and they had nice warm french bread so I got that and this is my lunch! The warm bread and soup went well together and I can’t wait for it to start cooling off even more so I can make lots of awesome soups.

What’s your favorite winter time soup?

Bento #4

Yesterday I got my new bento box in the mail. I was very excited about it, so even though I still had a bit of food left over for lunch today at work, I thought I’d go ahead and make a snack bento in my new box. I found that my new silicone heart shaped cupcake baking cups worked great in my new box and fit the theme perfectly!

Here’s a picture of the bento box with a pencil to show how small it is.

I think I’m getting better at making the bento attractive, but I still have a ways to go before I’ll be doing beautiful charaben. I also read up on food safety and found foods that will help keep everything fresh and safe throughout the day. That’s why the little key lime is added in there with the fruit. I also thought the lime juice would be good on the strawberries or in the tea.
